The vast majority of us today seem to have been bombarded with SMS messages talking about a radioactive cloud from Japan covering all of Asia; there is zero evidence to back up today’s misinformation. There is indeed a scary leakage in Japan, but the fallout area is only a few tens of kilometers around eastern Japan — and going easterly with the trade winds. So, no one here needs to be taking potassium iodide today, for any reason.

So, everyone, let’s take a deep breath…there, now…relax…you are getting sleepy…

I’m sure I’ll be writing more about this topic over the next couple days, but for now let’s all just send our thoughts and prayers to the suffering people in Japan.
