Many people in China are now going to their local beauty parlor to get small surgeries such as botox injections, chemical peels and double eyelid surgeries. But as we discuss in this week’s podcast, most of these smaller places are not licensed or trained for any of these procedures, so the complication rates are quite high. These scary findings were discussed in a China Daily article last week.  In the second half of the podcast we discuss an unusually promising treatment for Alzheimers. The study was done in rats but this particular drug shows more promise than usual, and hopefully in a few years we will be talking a lot more about this drug.
