Removing chemicals from our food | Jiang Gaoming – China Dialogue.

The excellent environmental website China Dialogue has the above article discussing chemicals and pesticides on foods, and steps we can take to alleviate this problem. This issue got stirred up a bit last April from a Greenpeace China investigation which found that only 5 of 45 fruit and vegetable samples had no pesticides. The samples were taken from Wal-Mart, Vanguard, Lotus and Nonggongshang stores in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.

It’s this type of independent lab testing that makes me very conscious of my supermarket habits, and I personally prefer to pay a little extra for organics.
